Oral Cancer Screenings

Oral cancer can be identified early through an annual screening exam at our Orlando dental office. The American Cancer Society recommends a yearly check for all people over 40 years of age and every three years for people between 20 and 39 years of age. The exam is simple, quick, and comfortable. Dr. Puig or one of our dental hygienists will examine the roof and floor of your mouth, the upper and lower gums, cheeks, lips, throat, and tongue for white or red patches that require additional follow up.

Approximately 30,000 cases of oral cancer are diagnosed each year, and one American dies from oral cancer every hour of every day. That’s why Dr. Puig regularly screens patients for this deadly disease. Oral cancer is 90% curable when found early. Therefore, it only makes sense to schedule an annual oral cancer exam.
