All-Porcelain Crowns

All-porcelain crowns are tooth-like caps made from durable ceramics, mimicking the shape, color and translucency of natural teeth. Formerly, crowns consisted of a metal shell with porcelain fused to the surface. Unfortunately, the underlying metal eliminated translucency and would begin to show through, leaving an unsightly black line at the gum line. All-porcelain options eliminate the line and (thanks to technology) are now just as strong as metal/porcelain crowns.

Dental Implant Restorations

Dental implants are the most natural and longest lasting restoration procedure. This aesthetic and functional solution involves replacing the root with a titanium post anchored directly into the jaw bone. The bone naturally fuses to the implant, creating a secure foundation for a prosthetic tooth. The restoration is completed with a natural looking crown.

Dentures & Partials

Dentures are upper and lower appliances that replace every tooth in the upper or lower arch and are secured using either adhesive resin or titanium implants. Partials, on the other hand, replace only a section of teeth and are secured to remaining teeth with either metal clasps or flexible plastic.

Fixed Bridges

A fixed bridge is the method of tooth replacement that utilizes an artificial tooth bonded securely to one or more crowns. The crowns are then fixed permanently over the teeth adjacent to the gap, called abutment teeth. Fixed bridges may also be supported by dental implants, with the implants taking the place of healthy abutment teeth.

Full-Mouth Rehabilitation

Full-mouth rehabilitation is a comprehensive restoration plan that not only considers the teeth, but the gums, soft tissue, and underlying bone as well. These restoration plans are tailored specifically to the individual, and can include many types of restorations or the use of secondary specialists to ensure optimum oral health.

Gold Restorations

Used for both fillings and crowns, gold is one of the most bio-compatible and durable materials used in restorative dentistry. Gold lessens the chance of allergic reactions to metal, resists staining and plaque build-up, and is less likely to corrode or oxidize over time. Gold restorations are most often used on out-of-sight teeth and can potentially last 20 to 30 years if cared for properly.

Inlays & Onlays

Commonly used if the damage to the tooth requires only partial restoration, inlays and onlays restore or maintain the natural contours of the teeth. Inlays fit within the pits and fissures of the tooth, while onlays replace fractured cusps, the raised peaks on the tooth’s biting surface. Like bridges and crowns, inlays and onlays are fabricated appliances customized specifically for the patient’s tooth.

Tooth-Colored, Mercury-Free Fillings

Made from composite resin, tooth-colored fillings are a longer lasting and more aesthetically pleasing alternative to mercury-containing metal fillings. Because metal fillings expand and contract during changes in temperature, they tend to separate from the tooth over time, trapping food and bacteria between the filling and remaining tooth and leading to further tooth decay. Resin fillings solve this problem and are easily color-matched to the patient’s natural teeth.
