All-On-4® Dental Implants in Orlando, FL
All-On-4® dental implants replace a full set of upper or lower teeth with an arch of prosthetic teeth supported by four strategically placed dental implants in the upper or lower jawbone. Benefits of All-On-4® Dental Implants
All-on-4 dental implants replace missing teeth with a full arch of replacement teeth. This arch of teeth resembles a denture but is thinner, lighter, and more realistic looking than a denture. For upper teeth, you will also notice that the arch of replacement teeth does not cover the roof of the mouth. This makes tasting foods and sensing hot and cold foods and beverages easier.
With the All-On-4 approach, fewer implants are needed, which means less chance of infection, less recovery time and pain, and less cost for the patient. However, All-On-4 dental implants offer the same stability and comfort as individual dental implants. The All-On-4 solution also eliminates the need for bone grafting for many of our patients. With only four implants needed in each jaw, Dr. Milton can strategically place the implants in areas with sufficient bone mass to fuse effectively with each implant, stimulating new bone growth and volume.
Benefits of All-On-4® dental implants include:
- Fewer incisions and less chance of infection.
- Quicker recovery.
- Less need for bone grafting.
- It costs less than individual implants and crowns.
- Easy care: brush and floss like natural teeth.
- No need to remove dentures for cleaning or sleeping.
- Natural look and feel.
- Ability to eat all the foods you love.
All-On-4 Procedure in Orlando
The All-On-4 procedure at Dynamic Smile Design is a collaboration between Dr. Milton, who performs the oral surgery, and Dr. Patel, who creates your new replacement teeth. Working closely together, they will make a detailed treatment plan that provides incredibly natural-looking, functional, and beautiful results.
On the day of implant placement, Dr. Milton numbs the surgical site and, if you have chosen sedation, administers the appropriate sedative for your comfort. The titanium implants are strategically placed in the jawbone to provide the greatest stability. It typically takes one to two hours to place the four implants. We will provide you with a temporary set of false teeth so that you can go about your normal activities without feeling self-conscious while your implants are healing.
The implants will take several weeks to fuse with the surrounding jawbone. During this time, Dr. Patel will design and create the full arch of permanent replacement teeth. After about eight weeks, your new arch of replacement teeth is permanently fastened to the implants. Although the implants will continue to integrate more fully with the jawbone for up to six months, you can immediately use your new teeth once they are attached. You can eat the foods you love, smile confidently, and enjoy the comfort of not wearing dentures.
Are You a Candidate for All-On-4®?
If you are missing all or most of your teeth in the upper or lower jaw, All-On-4 dental implants are an excellent option for restoring your teeth. If you are unsatisfied with your dentures, All-On-4 dental implants can improve your comfort and satisfaction. However, you must be in good health without active gum disease. Individuals with uncontrolled diabetes, certain autoimmune diseases, or bleeding disorders may not be eligible for this procedure. Heavy smokers are not generally candidates for dental implants.
Dr. Milton and Dr. Patel determine each patient’s candidacy for All-On-4 dental implants individually based on a comprehensive evaluation. This includes a review of the individual’s medical history, a thorough dental examination, X-rays to assess bone density, and digital images to plan the implant placement. This thorough process ensures that the All-On-4 procedure is the right choice for you.
All-On-4® Dental Implant FAQs
Will I need to take time off of work for All-On-4 implant placement?
Most patients take three days off work to recover from implant placement. This gives you time to focus on healing. Relax, avoid any strenuous activities, and get lots of rest for the first 72 hours.
Will I be in pain after the implant placement?
There will be some discomfort and swelling, which can be controlled with over-the-counter pain medications and ice packs or cold compresses. If needed, we can prescribe a non-narcotic pain reliever as well. Any pain or swelling should be gone within a week.
What can I eat after implant surgery?
You will be on a soft diet at first. Drs. Milton and Patel will give you detailed instructions, including a list of appropriate foods for the first six to eight weeks.
How do I care for my All-On-4 dental implants?
All-On-4 implants are designed to last decades and often a lifetime WITH PROPER ORAL HYGIENE. That means brushing twice daily and flossing daily. It also means having your dental implants checked and your new teeth cleaned twice yearly by Dr. Patel. She is the first line of defense against dental plaque, which can build up on the restorations, and gum disease, which can cause the implants to loosen and lead to implant failure. Routine check-ups are crucial to the long-term success of your All-On-4 dental implants.
